Surfin big wave's @ the Surf Shack! (Malmö, Sweden)

After two year's without a "Wolf pack" reunion, it was time to cut the time excuse and spontaneously get the guys together. Said and done....it was time to meet up in dear old Sweden (Malmö) and to start things of it was suggested we get the burgers out of the way and try out Surf Shack that has a lot of buzz to it. My buddies know me well =)

Surf Shack is like what it sounds! A chill place to enjoy a burger, shake, beers and hang out with friends. And the burger concept is smashing, since YOU decide what you want as toppings and that list is loooooooong and brought me back to LA and The Counter. The burger patties are about 135 grams of juicy beef that is the perfect size and these guys got it down with the juiciness!! And if you are hungry you can always go with two patties and they probably wont say no, if you ask for three.

After a short lunch flight and no breakfast the hunger had kicked in so I went full out with my toppings, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, pickles, tomato, lettuce, cheddar and some mayo on top of the mountain.....oh, added side was some garlic fries and let me tell you these fries are yummy delicious, big thumbs up for that.

When in Malmö, visit or just order on-line with delivery, it will for sure be tasty!

DOM DOM DOM DOOOOOM Konstanz (Konstanz, Germany)

It's been a while, the last few months has been devoted to spend time and hang out with a new family member and hopefully a future burger lover! Howerver there have been a few burger eats and here is the first one out!

Since forever my wife has had a supernatural talent to give suggestions on burger joint's that has proven them self worthy to make the blog. As we where on our way to visit Konstanz (Germany) she said "I found a place I think you might like".

The spot had the slogan "Quality since 2008" with burgers named Herkules, Mafia and Starcatcher etc. DOM Konstanz is located in the old-town parts of the city next to their big church (name connection? Hmmm....). DOM has a nice atmosphere and a pretty intense menu of 18 burgers and other eats, our focus for sure was the burgers.

I have visited DOM once more since then and let me tell you, their quality have been the same both times, fresh meat and vegetables that feels that they just got grown. Their burgers are made on a lava stone grill that gives the burger patty a nice color and grill taste. Healthy eaters will be very happy to know that the burger patty's according to DOM has an average of 8,5 percent fat which probably is an accurate statement since the burger's are not US style juicy, but airy and balanced. Their burger's comes in 3 sizes M, L and XL and 3 different burger buns, rustic for the people that want something different, full grain for the healthy eater or traditional sesame for us normal burger lovers.

Burger recommendations; DOM Burger, Herkules and if you can handle the stronger stuff try the Fuego Escobar Burger.

P.S. you better be hungry if you order the XL =)

@Kung Fu Burger.....a kicki'n experience!! (Bern, Switzerland)

Switzerland is not exactly a burger mecca, but they have delivered some pretty awesome burgers from north to south. A while back me and my wife decided to visit the capital and for sure we checked out if they had some burger joint's and sure they did.......this one you could say stands out, Kung Fu Burger!

These guys really came up with a original concept and customer experience that they fully deliver on, YES it looks like a Chinese restaurant, YES it is a burger joint and YES they actually do serve handmade dumplings called momos, confused yet? Good, it's going to be worth it....

Kicking some ass is their menu that provides classic and seasonal choices and a good variety of sides...plenty of choices and things to try. Our pick was the Kung Fu Burger made from 170 grams of Evoléner beef served airy, mid juicy and perfectly combined with fresh toppings and a choice between Kung Fu Bread or old school fluffy American Brioche. My wife went with the tasty Vegetarian Sultan and was very happy to choose corn slices as a side, the big plus for the day!

So when in Bern don't just experience the Swiss atmosphere, visit Kung Fu Burger and add some Asian and American into the mix.....and oh go panda on the menu.....

@zum Gaul, the horseshoe = burger luck (Zürich, Switzerland)

Timing is everything and sometimes whatever you do your timing does not match with anything else!

Luckily we had one of those days, our timing made us miss our planned lunch spot and thanks to a recommendation we ended up @zum Gaul that is a chill garden terrace type of place in Zürich Hardbrücke.

This place has a extremely chill vibe and turned out to be a hidden gem when it comes to providing a really decent burger as well. The Gaul-Burger as it is called is made out of a near produced Swiss beef that is around 160 grams. This burger is probably one of the most compact and juiciest burgers I have tested in the Europe region, thumbs up for that!

What made zum Gaul a suprisingly complete and good burger experience was their soft but still perfectly crispy classic style burger bun!

Look at the pictures and make sure that you try the burger if you are in the area, its worth a visit =)

@Korner, don't cut this Korner (Zürich, Switzerland)

The burger hunt in Zürich continues and this time we got a recommendation from a college of mine to try Korner.

First impression of Korner was that it centers around it's bar since that is the first thing you see when entering the place, which is really nice. It gives you the sense of having a beer and when ready order a burger. Compared to it's competitors it does not have a outstanding theme, it is an airy space with lots of space which welcomes everyone to have a drink and eat.

Their menu consist mostly of different burger combinations and for lunch they also offer pasta, salads and etc. I found their menu to be nice with plenty of choices and sides to heighten the experience for everyone and also a nice layout of the menu.

The burger's are made of swiss beef and in this case Highland beef. The patty I would guess is somewhere between 150-160 grams. The meat feels fresh and juicy together with the combos and the classic burger bun. On my to try list is the Mr. Scoville that is suppose to be super hot.

As a side choice Korner offers coleslaw and for sure we needed to try it since we are big fans of coleslaw. It was really tasty but potentially it could have been a bit more crunchy =)

All in all Korner is a good offer along the high quality burger joint's in Zürich, so don't cut the Korner and give it a try.....

@ the bite, it's a BURGER! (Zürich, Switzerland)

The Zürich burger scene has so far not disappointed......so what does one of the most hyped burger joint's in Zürich have to offer?

After three tries to get a table (our schedule vs the bites schedule) we finally found a day to eat us some burger's and just in case, the bite would deliver on it's hype we actually reserved two dates one for our date night and one to hang out with some friends!

The bite provides a nice atmosphere with new age street-art hanging on the walls, damped light, candles and old school mixed furniture that brings in something different in a good way. It's noisy as hell which I love, people chatting and enjoying themselves. It's like sitting at a NY restaurant people watching, drinking beers and enjoying good food.

The menu comes with some standard burger's and some with a twist on it and of-course a burger of the week. The bite also have a SECRET, in this case it is the meat mix...I won't spill it out but you can always try to ask or simply Google. However the mix delivers a 170 gram patty that is not super juicy but very airy which makes it yummy to eat without getting that compact meat feeling. The bun is traditional US style brioche which goes perfectly with their burger's!

The plus on the menu is the THREESOME, a collection of three sliders that are based on their three most popular burger's or their crazy awsome Manchego burger. To top the whole thing off and really get in to the food coma add Animal style fries!

To sum it up, the bite meets it's hype and as supply and demand states in this case the burger's might feel a bit on the pricier side, bite the dust it will be worth the experience.

.............and yes we went back for the second reservation with our friends and Martin was totally happy about the slider's and that I delivered on my burger promises. We just missed the shake's!

Animal style fries, roasted shallots and plenty of cheese =)

@ Inglewood up to swangin' good! (Geneva, Switzerland)

When me and wife travel there is always two musts on our list......one is to do my signature jump at a landmark that marks the spot we are at and the second you can guess by now =)

For our first visit to Geneva we read about and visited two burger joint's with Inglewood being first to visit and as the song goes Inglewood is usually up to no good. But this Inglewood is up to burger good and provides the Geneva area with a really high quality burger's. The burger bun, is not a typical one but the puppy seed makes it all good. Their patty is 160 grams beef or buffalo (from local providers in the Geneva area) and unfortunately they did not serve the buffalo both times that I was there. Their burgers are not US juicy but more French raw inspired but still does the work!

The menu gives the people what they want (trust me I brought 10 of my business colleges to this place) with some crazy touches and there own "iWood" sauce.

When there definitely try Mexicano "B" or Dzodzet.

@ Helvti-Diner a peace of US in Switzerland! (Zürich, Switzerland)

When we first moved to Switzerland we lived in Lugano, Ticino. In the Italian parts it is not so easy to find a decent burger place or a burger at all, except for McD it was an Irish pub and an Italian pizza place.

How ever in Zürich there is a few more choices and now the chase for where to hang out when longing for a good burger has started. Helvti-Diner is after very warm recommendations from my colleague Martin the 3rd place to try.

And the owners gets thumbs up for creating a nice burger diner atmosphere! This place plays good music, has attending staff and every-time a burger order is done you hear this dude shout "Burger, Burger" which kinda take you back to a NY burger joint.

The menu: simple you have your choices of 3 different meats Swiss Beef, Angus and for the burger hot-shots Wagyu beef. How you "pimp" the rest of your burger is up to you.....simple just like it should be!

Since I will need to try all the meats for the first visit I picked Swiss Beef, the patty size of 170 grams was juicy and more than enough . The meat was perfectly cooked but I guess it was not my lucky day since my Burger was a bit too salty which was a pity. S**t happen's that we all know, so I simply have to give it another try.

BUT the Milkshake and the Cheesecake was total perfection it saved the evening! (my pics where to dark so check out the Diner's own pics below)

To sum it up, if you are looking for a nice evening out and looking for a burgers with great company and longing for a bit of US atmosphere then Helvti-Diner is a must try!

@ Holy Cow!! A Swiss chain that beats most and loves Elvis.....(Zürich/Lausanne, Switzerland)

It is not an easy task to find good burgers in Switzerland!

The Swiss are very conscious about quality of food but despite this finding a burger restaurant that serves really tasty, well done and juicy burgers has it's challenges and no Burger King and McD is not an option.

After a lot of searching (actually my wife searching and I was mostly sad due to the lack of burgers) she found a Swiss burger chain called Holy Cow. As we planned a trip to Geneva we decided to stop by in Lausanne to try this place. THANK GOD!

Holy Cow's concept is simple: Fast food, choices, fresh and with the Swiss high quality. They have a many different choices of burgers and their burger patty i about 165 grams natural beef which is enough and if you are really hungry you can choose two patties. What makes Holy Cow stick out is two more things they burger bread that is amazingly fresh and tasty and that they probably have one of the best Veggie Burger's in the WORLD!

Their menu is inspired by Elvis, King Kong and different destinations in the world which adds that little extra to their menu but also the atmosphere of the place. If you eat the burger in the original spot in Lausanne you will get the burgers with chips and in Zürich the come with fries.

Lately they have also started making their own Bier's and Ice tea, so if you like natural, high quality and conscious food then you have to visit HOLY COW!! The name tells most of the story =)
